Lucas Piña was recently appointed to Senior Vice President of the Entertainment Division at Spanish Broadcasting System Inc. (SBSE). With 16 years of experience, Mr. Piña is a renowned senior-level executive who has worked for major Record Labels that represent stellar recording artists within Latin America, Puerto Rico and the United States. He has been responsible for the development of numerous multi-platinum Latin American artists such as Carlos Vives, Thalia, Obie Bermudez, Soraya, Tiziano Ferro, and Alex Syntek, among others.

As the Sr. Vice President for SBSE, Mr. Piña is helping to build SBSE into the leading live content and entertainment business for the Latin consumer in the United States and Puerto Rico. That goal is reflected in SBSE's tagline: "We see you, we hear you, we speak your language."

Before joining SBSE, Mr. Piña was Vice President of Promotions and Marketing for EMI Music, one of the world's leading music companies and home to some of the most successful and best known recording artists. Prior to that role, he was the National Promotions Director for Universal Music Group (UMG), one of the largest business groups and family of record labels in the recording industry, and before that he was National Promotions and Marketing Director for Hola Records.

Mr. Piña started his career as Promotions Director for the major label recording company started by Philips as a holding company for its music interests in 1945. The company was known as PolyGram when Mr. Piña worked there and in 1999, it was sold to Seagram and merged into Universal Music Group.
